Clipboard2Image is a macOS utility to automatically save images to disk.

It looks for new content on the clipboard, and saves it as an image to disk in SVG, JPG, PNG, or PDF formats. Even rich text on the clipboard can be saved as an image file, for use in other apps.
Browse the Clipboard2Image User Guide online or download the PDF (2 MB, 7 pages).

Updated July 2019. Requires macOS 10.9+

When you copy, automatically saves as image to disk

Clipboard2Image saves the clipboard contents automatically to disk.
It can save images content on the clipboard, and even formatted text copied from the web or any app.

Easy drag-n-drop to apps where copy-paste not supported

Clipboard2Image can automatically provide an image on disk, which may be crucial to some workflows.
When pasting an image into an app doesn't work, try dragging an image file on disk into the app.
Apps Super Vectorizer 2 and Super PhotoCut Pro require import of image files on disk, and don't allow copy paste.

Capture and save SVG graphics content on the clipboard

SVG vector graphics routinely copied to clipboard from illustration apps can be saved to disk.
Drag or import .svg files into other applications such as for graphics and video production.
Clipboard2Image can save SVG images for use in VideoScribe.

Add border with padding or resize image smartly

You also have the ability to modify the image on the clipboard before it's saved to disk.
And an option to keep window above all other application windows for convenient drag-n-drop.

Advanced Configuration Options

While the app is monitoring, every change to the clipboard will result in a new image saved to disk. You can configure the app to NOT monitor automatically when it starts up. Or you can configure the app to stop clipboard monitoring after it has been inactive for a few minutes. And of course, you can customize the prefix used for image filenames.
