PDF Trim is a utility for intuitively trimming the edges of PDF pages. It also provides tools for cutting out a mid-section of a page, or deleting an entire page. PDF Trim is especially useful for quickly editing PDF pages saved from web articles.

When PDF Trim launches, it displays the "PDF Trim Tutorial" PDF, ready for you to edit. You can practice using the trimming tools on this PDF. At any point, you can reset the PDF to the original version, using the Help menu > "Show PDF Trim Tutorial PDF" command.
Browse the PDF Trim User Guide online or download as PDF (11 MB, 15 pages).

Master the trim tools with a short tutorial

On launch, PDF Trim shows a tutorial that walks through the four edge-trim tools and two mid-cut tools. And you can delete a whole page by holding down the Option key which reveals a red X delete button on the top-right of the page. You can reset the tutorial at any point by going to the Help menu → Show PDF Trim Tutorial PDF.

Red overlay provides feedback for a precise trim

The four edge trim tools are applied immediately with a mouse click. As soon as a trim tool is activated, a red overlay follows the mouse and shows the area that will be trimmed. You can of course undo any incorrect trims with ⌘ Z.

Trim a Single Page or Multiple Pages

You can select whether the trim tools will apply only to a single page, to all pages, or specifically only to odd and even pages. The red overlay will accordingly be shown on multiple pages, as applicable. When applying the trim, a progress indicator is shown with the option to cancel.

Cut out a mid-section of the page

Use the vertical mid-cut (shortcut V) and horizontal mid-cut (shortcut H) to cut out parts of the PDF page. In the figure below, the V tool is used to cut out the clock image from the PDF. Use these tools to cut out banner advertisements or reduce whitespace in web capture PDFs.

Delete extra pages - hold down Option key

Usually when printing web articles to PDF, the last page may be blank or it may contain irrelevant information like website footers. Hold down the Option key to reveal a red X on the top right of the page, and use it to delete the page.
